108 Dhamma Similes

Venerable Ajahn Chah

Published • Revised

Venerable Ajahn Chah was a master at using the apt and unusual simile to explain points of Dhamma in a memorable way. He was especially talented at exploiting the open-ended nature of the simile - using a particular image to make one point in one context, and a very different point in another.

This book is a companion to In Simple Terms, an earlier collection of similes drawn from Ajahn Chah’s transcribed talks.

    • The EPUB format is suitable for most e-readers, except Kobos and Kindles. This includes most e-reader applications on mobile phones and tablets (e.g. Apple's iBooks, various apps for Android), and on desktops (e.g. Calibre).
    • Kindle owners will generally want the AZW3 format. Unfortunately, AZW3s cannot be sent with Amazon's Send to Kindle service and need to be sideloaded via USB. Some have tried using Send to Kindle to send EPUBs, but with mixed success.
    • Kobo owners will want kobo's “KEPUB” format, which is a version of the EPUB format optimized for Kobo e-readers.
